Deep blue of the oceans, green of the forests, yellow of the deserts, white poles and brown mountains. Seen from the sky, our planet offers its best for who wants to discover its nature. From the secret « tassili » of the Sahara to the Antarctic icebergs, from the tropical jungle of Amazonia to the Indian ocean lagoons, the planet earth shelters an amazing fauna and an infinite variety of landscapes.

The deserts
Real natural sanctuaries, the deserts represent almost a third of the emerged surfaces of the planet. Deserts may look the same by their aridity, their warmth and their immensity, they can also be very different from one continent to another. From the dunes of the Gobi desert in Mongolia, to the hugeness of the Amatlich in Mauritania, from the tassilis of the South of Algeria, to the stoneware towers of the Bungle Bungle in Australia, from the salted lakes of the Danakil in Ethiopia, to the cactus trees of Sonora in Mexico, the deserts can be made of sand, stone, salt or plants. The ecosystems are even more complex and fragile than anywhere else. Travelling in the desert is like discovering the magic of light or getting lost in some amazing stone fortresses. And get closer to our real identity.

Forests, plaines and rivers
From the boreal taïgas to the tropical jungles, the forests cover about 27% of our planet and play an essential role in the climate regulation and the water cycle. They also represent one of the richest ecosystem of the planet as they shelter more than half of the biodiversity (80% of the insects and 90% of the primates). If you think of the forests as the lungs of our planet, rivers would be its arteries. Big rivers such as the Mekong, the Amazon ou the Nile are telling the story of our planet but also of the men who settled on its banks. Interfaces between oceans and rivers, the estuaries are also unique ecosystems. Deltas in the Danube, in Asia or in wester Africa shelter many migratory birds and their peaceful waters are used as nurseries to many sea organisms.

Oceans, seas and islands
From the pole ice fields to the great barrel of coral in Australia, from the volcani islands in Hawaï to the seabanks of the Mediterranean sea, oceans and seas recover more the two thirds of our planet. They are the condition to our climate, our life and our future. For the new sailor, the ocean planet offers many islands, lagoons, deltas and riverbanks to explore and to enjoy. But for the diver as well, they are some incredible barrels of colourful corral to see. Far from the touristic places where beaches smell solar spray, you can still discover secret islands and wild places very close from where you live.
